Before you email
- Make sure you have the current version installed, then quit and reopen the app.
- For camera or Apple Health issues, check that the relevant system permissions are still enabled.
- Do not uninstall the app as a routine troubleshooting step: doing so deletes local records.
Data and storage
Where is my Shouzhong data stored?
Your profile, avatar, meals, weight, and preferences are stored in the app's local data container on your iPhone. This version has no Shouzhong account, developer-operated cloud sync, or developer backend.
Does Shouzhong sync across devices?
No. Version 1.2.0 does not offer Shouzhong cloud sync or cross-device sync. Whether an iOS device backup includes app data depends on Apple's system features and your device settings; the developer cannot read that backup.
How do I delete local records?
- You can delete individual meal or weight entries from their respective record screens.
- You can remove your avatar from Personal Information.
- To remove all local data, delete Shouzhong from iOS. The release app has no one-tap 'Erase all data' control.
Camera and photos
Why does the app request camera access?
The camera is used only to photograph nutrition labels on packaging. If you decline camera access, you can still log manually or choose an image with the system photo picker. You can change camera permission in iOS Settings.
Are nutrition-label photos uploaded or saved?
No. Apple Vision reads the image on your device. The image is neither uploaded nor saved as a meal record. Only results you review and save become local records.
Does choosing an avatar expose my entire photo library?
No. Shouzhong uses Apple's system photo picker and receives only the image you select. A cropped thumbnail is saved locally after you confirm it, and you can remove it at any time.
Apple Health
Does Shouzhong read Apple Health data?
No. Shouzhong asks for write permission only, never read permission. If you enable syncing, it can write weight and a summary of each meal's food names, calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat.
How do I stop syncing?
Open Settings and turn off Apple Health. You can keep previously synced records or choose 'Turn Off and Remove Synced Data'. You can also manage write permission in the Health app.
Will records remain in Apple Health if I delete Shouzhong?
They may remain. Apple Health and Shouzhong's local data container are separate. Before deleting Shouzhong, turn off syncing and choose to remove its records if you want them gone; you can also manage them in the Health app.
Accounts, payments, and network access
Do I need an account or sign-in?
No. Version 1.2.0 has no Shouzhong account system.
Does this version have purchases or subscriptions?
No. Version 1.2.0 has no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Can I use it offline?
Yes. Core logging and nutrition-label text recognition do not depend on a developer server. You need a connection to open this support site or send support email.
