Privacy Policy

1. Scope and developer

This policy applies to the Shouzhong iOS app (the “App”) and its public privacy and support website. Shouzhong is developed and maintained by individual developer Yulin Yang (杨雨霖). In this policy, “developer” means Yulin Yang.

This policy does not cover products or services independently provided by Apple, Microsoft, the website host, or other third parties. Their own privacy policies describe how they handle data.

2. Information handled in the app

Profile, goals, and records

To provide meal and weight logging, goal calculations, and trends, the App processes information you enter or generate on your device. This may include your name, avatar, sex, date of birth, height, weight, activity level, goals, meal and nutrition records, meal times, and display preferences.

This information stays in the App’s local data container and is not sent to a developer server.

Photos and text recognition

When you take or choose a photo of a nutrition label, the App uses Apple Vision to recognize text on your device. The image is processed only as long as needed for recognition. It is not uploaded or saved as a meal record; only results you review and save are written to local records.

When you choose an avatar, the system photo picker gives the App only the image you select. A cropped thumbnail is stored locally after you confirm it, until you remove the avatar or delete the App.

Apple Health

Apple Health syncing is off by default. If you turn it on and grant write permission, the App can write your weight and a summary of each meal’s food names, total calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat to Apple Health.

The App does not request read access to Apple Health or send HealthKit data to a developer server.

Support communication

If you choose to email support, the developer receives your email address, message, and any files you attach. This information is used only to respond, investigate the issue, and retain necessary correspondence.

3. How information is used

• Store and display your profile, meals, weight, goals, and trends on your device.
• Recognize a nutrition label you take or choose, and prepare record details for your review.
• Write selected records to Apple Health with your permission, and carry out removal actions you request.
• Handle support requests, investigate problems, and reply to your emails.

4. Collection, sharing, and tracking

This version has no user accounts or developer-operated backend, and includes no advertising, analytics, profiling, or cross-app tracking SDKs. The developer does not collect meal, weight, photo, avatar, or health records from the App, sell them, or provide them to advertising or marketing services.

Writing to Apple Health is an on-device system action you authorize. Copies in Apple Health are managed by Apple’s system features and are separate from the App’s local data container.

5. Third-party services

Apple system services

The App uses Apple’s camera, system photo picker, Vision, and HealthKit. Camera use, photo selection, and text recognition take place on your device. Apple manages Apple Health and any iCloud syncing of health data you enable; see Apple Privacy Policy.

Website visits

The Shouzhong website provides product information, support, and this privacy policy. It has no registration or sign-in, and does not access the App’s local records.

To serve web pages, the website server processes your IP address, the requested path, and technical information sent by your browser. Operational details such as visit time and response status may be logged to troubleshoot access problems and maintain website security. The developer has not added advertising, behavioral analytics, or cross-site tracking code to the website.

Email

The support mailbox uses Microsoft Outlook. When you send an email, your email provider and Microsoft handle its transmission and storage under their own policies; see Microsoft Privacy Statement.

6. Retention and deletion

• Local records: Kept until you delete an individual record or remove the App from your device. The release App has no one-tap 'Erase all data' control.
• Nutrition-label images: Processed only during recognition and not retained as meal records.
• Avatar: A cropped thumbnail is stored locally and can be removed from Personal Information. Deleting the App also deletes the local avatar.
• Apple Health records: When turning off syncing in Settings, you can choose 'Turn Off and Remove Synced Data'. You can also manage these records in the Health app. Deleting this App alone may not delete copies previously written to Apple Health.
• Support emails: Retained for the time needed to handle your request and keep necessary correspondence. You can email support to request deletion of messages held by the developer, except where applicable law requires retention.
• Website access logs: If access logs are kept for troubleshooting or security, they are retained only for the shortest period needed for those purposes, unless law requires otherwise.

7. Permissions and choices

• You can decline or revoke camera permission in iOS Settings and continue to log manually or use the system photo picker.
• You choose each image through the system photo picker; the App does not request access to your entire photo library.
• You can turn off Apple Health syncing in Settings and choose whether to remove records written by the App. You can also manage system write permission in the Health app.
• You can delete individual meal or weight entries on their record screens. To remove all local data, delete the App from iOS.
• For support emails you chose to send, you can use the address below to request access, correction, or deletion.

8. Security

The App stores records in the iOS app sandbox and local data container, without keeping a copy of App data on a developer server. No storage method can guarantee absolute security; please protect your device, passcode, and Apple Account.

9. Policy changes

This page will be updated if the App’s features, data handling, or applicable requirements change. App Store privacy disclosures will also be kept in line with actual data handling.
